Casual Mom Style: Peplum & Cargo Pants
I feel like I have been living in my cargo pants around the house lately! I love how easy this outfit is – it’s perfect for going for a walk, getting groceries, watching netflix…. all of my regular mat leave activities hahah. My peplum top is from one of my fav local(ish) shops – Jenny Joans. I’ve talked about that store before, but they recently got a bunch of new adorable spring/summer stuff in so if you’re in the Estevan, Sask area go check them out OR just go to their brand new website (www.jennyjoans.com)!! I think the reason I love this particular peplum top so much is because it is a legit cotton t-shirt material. So you get the comfort of just a regular old t-shirt, but the extra flare of a peplum. It is incredibly easy to dress up or down!! I’ve also blogged about my green cargo pants before as well. They are soo stretchy/comfy!! I have owned them for a couple years so now, so there is a decent sized hole on my right upper hip buuut I still keep wearing them anyways! My exact pair are a few seasons old, but here is the newer version by JCrew. Since my pants have a decent sized hole in them (as I type this I realize how lazy I sound – I should probably look at getting someone to fix them..), I covered it up with a cocoon cardigan similar to this one. I don’t think I’ve told you guys about this cardi before?! It has a super warm, cozy inside and I wear it around the house a lot. I sometimes don’t find it super flattering on me though as I feel it can draw attention to my hips (and I don’t need any more attention on that area!!) just because of where it hits me/the style it is. However, it works with this outfit – potentially because my top is on the shorter side and puffs out a little – so I threw it on!
My earrings are oldies but are very similar to these ones – I love wearing bigger statement stud earrings to dress up a more casual outfit and also to help show off my little undercut as well! My flats are definitely in my top 5 FAV items in my closet. I adore them because they are a subtle leopard print, excellent quality & structure, and are easy to wear with either casual or dressier outfits. My exact pair are a couple seasons old, but here and here are some other Tory Burch flats that I love!
